| OwnerI'm thinking of buying the Framon Sidewinder 2 combination sidewinder duplicating and code cutting machine. Has anyone had any experience with this machine? Also, I got a copy of the owner's manual and see that you are cautioned that keys made on the machine, while they will work fine in the lock, will not look like a factory key. This could be an issue with customer satisfaction, depending on how ugly or different the keys look. Has anyone seen the finished key on this machine? I seem to be having a conversation with myself, but here is something new. After Framon wasn't able to tell/show me anything about the appearance issue they warned about in their manual, I contacted a person at Lockmasters who told me he had made code keys on the S2, and the only difference between a duplicated key and a code cut key was that the places between the cuts (where the cuts meet) are pointed if code cut. Framon recommends rounding those points off with a flat file, but the Lockmaster source said the code cut keys work in the locks fine without any filing of the points. Thanks. Ed |
