Well, there are quite a number of ethical issues in social networks and blogging. First of all, how much should one really disclose about his life and should people be polite enough not to make any derogatory remarks to people who give too much information in their Facebook accounts that are of no interest to other people?

Just because there are no hard and fast rules about ethics in social media doesn't mean that we shouldn't be ethical. We should be and we should respect other people's rights as well.

@Frances, we should always be respectful of other people's rights. However, sometimes because of the way some social network sites work, you get information that you don't really ask for. And what's worse is that because it gets posted in your feeds, others who visit your profile think you also endorse the same information even if you're not. One just really have to watch out for his own privacy very carefully.

There are a lot of software applications that we can sue today online and I agree with you guys that it is really important that we also keep privacy on our account and not just to make it public all the time. Some confidential or important that might cause a problem to our account should be kept in private. This is also for our own sake. But it is still a matter of choice.
